Who am I ? And What is Knowledgeyatra?

Hello friends.
I will start this blog by talking a bit about why I have created it and what I hope to achieve through it.
A little background about who I am. I am a young game programmer (at-least as of August 2009 :) ) from India with a passion for knowledge of all kinds and more specifically Science and Technology.
The reason I have created this blog is because I feel knowledge should not only be available, but also accessible to all. Online resources like Wikipedia do a good job of giving information about almost everything under the sun, but they do not, according to me, help people construct new knowledge. Any article under Wikipedia assumes that the reader is already initiated in the area of knowledge that the article is about. Wikipedia is indeed a great source of Knowledge and I really feel the need for such a resource but there is also a specific need for a web-resource that helps people learn from scratch, without assuming much prior understanding of the subject.
The second reason for the birth of this blog is, that of all things that are of value, knowledge has the highest ratio of distribution to cost. A wise man / woman had once said that if I have a car and I also want you to have a car, then I would have to give you my car thus making me devoid of the same. Consider the case of Knowledge on the other hand. Suppose I know the theory behind the working of a car, now if I want to let you know of the same, I would just have to explain that to you and that knowledge would still remain with me, thus duplicating value equivalent to the knowledge and costing only as much as the time I spend to pass the knowledge to you. I need no extra material, nor much energy to do this as against the case building a new car for you. Now there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that the knowledge of the workings of an automobile is valuable. As of August 2009 we are living in a Knowledge economy. Multinational corporations like Google, Adobe, Microsoft,Apple, IBM etc. are founded around knowledge.
